District 8

Welcome to District 8!

Thank you for visiting the updated website of District 8 of the Ohio Music Education Association. D8 is a geographically large district comprising the counties of Carroll, Columbiana, Jefferson, Stark, and Tuscarawas. Within these counties, we service 46 public school districts and numerous private and parochial institutions. D8 students actively participate in Solo and Ensemble adjudicated events at both the junior high and high school levels.  We also host a junior high Large Group adjudicated event for band, choir, and orchestra and high school Large Group adjudicated events at both the district and state level for band and choir.  Annually, District 8 has made a commitment to offering a junior high honors band and choir event for students.

If you are interested in becoming more involved in D8, please reach out! We have Fall, Winter, and Spring meetings that you can find listed on our district calendar, and we would love to have you join us and share your ideas. Please let me know if you would like to be involved in honor festival planning for 2024-2025, if you have interest in hosting a future adjudicated event, or would like to pursue a leadership position in District 8.
